PTI given conditional permission to stage demo: Interior Minister

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Thursday said there is no restriction on freedom of expression and that is why PTI had been permitted to hold a demonstration in Islamabad on certain conditions.

Addressing a press conference here, the Interior Minister said the government has no issues with free speech and staging a protest.

He said there are other places to stage rallies, as a gathering of people could indulge in destructive activities in the capital city of Islamabad.

However, Nisar said no one would be allowed to carry arms and ammunition in the rally.

He said police, FC and Rangers will jointly share the security responsibilities during the demonstration.
