Skipper Misbahul Haq turns 40
LAHORE: Pakistan’s ODI and Test skipper Misbahul Haq is celebrating his 40th birthday today (Wednesday).

The Pakistani skipper was born in Mianwali on 28 May, 1974 and had his test debut against New Zealand when he was 27-years-old.

In 2007, Misbah made a comeback to the Pakistani squad during the 2007 T20 World Cup. He was appointed the skipper in 2010 following the spot-fixing scandal and Shahid Afridi stepping down as the test captain. In 2012 Misbah successfully led Pakistan to a 3-0 test series win and defeated India in an ODI series on their home soil.

The often criticized skipper has been referred to as ‘Tuk Tuk’ for his batting style but his supporters see Misbah as the foundation of the Pakistan middle order in recent years.
