ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and Opposition leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah Monday said that his party stood by the Army leadership on military operation in North Waziristan.
Speaking in the National Assembly, Khursheed Shah said that the decision of launching operation in troubled areas was right, adding that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should have spent a little more time in the National Assembly.
He further said that the opposition did not want to raise another issue by staging a walkout, suggesting that the government should take ownership of military operation.
The ongoing military operation should be conclusive, Mr Shah added.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took the members of the lower house into confidence over the army operation in North Waziristan by delivering a speech.
