Environmental Tribunal judge shot dead in Quetta
QUETTA: Unknown gunmen opened fire in Shahbaz Town in Quetta and killed Environmental Tribunal judge Sakhi Sultan on Friday, Geo News reported.

According to police, the incident occurred in Shahbaz Town when unidentified armed attackers entered the Environmental Protection Tribunal office and opened fire on Sakhi Sultan, leaving him seriously injured.

He was rushed to the hospital but he couldn’t survive and died before any treatment was provided to him.

The assailants fled successfully from the scene.

After the killing of Sakhi Sultan, several members of the legal fraternity and the deceased judge's family gathered at the hospital.

Sakhi Sultan served as a senior lawyer at the Supreme Court and High Court, and was discharging his duties as a judge of the Environmental Tribunal.

In the past, he had also been associated with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

Following his cold-blooded murder today, Pakistan Bar Council, Balochistan High Court and Balochistan Bar Association announced mourning and boycott of court proceedings for two days.

President of Balochistan Bar Association Bilal Anwar Kasi and President of Balochistan High Court Bar Mir Zahoor Shahwani strongly condemned the killing of Sakhi Sultan and told that the lawyers will boycott court proceedings on Monday and Tuesday.
