LAHORE: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday awarded 14-year jail term and fined Rs 01 million to an accused involved in an acid attack case on a female lecturer.
According to prosecution, accused Abul Haq threw acid on a female lecturer of a private university near her home after she refused to marry him. The lecturer received severe burns and Satukatla Police had registered a case against the accused.
The court, after recording witnesses’ statements and reviewing evidence, awarded 14-year jail term to the accused besides fine. (APP)
