ISLAMABAD: Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA), Ministry of Culture arranged a musical evening here late Friday with popular singers and instrumentalists to collect donations for flood affected people.
With the title "Future and Traditions", the evening showcased the performance of Shahida mini, Uzma Ali and Muhammad Ali (Singers) and instrumentalists Gulab Khail (Rubab Player) Liaqat Ali (Jaltarang Player) Khawar Hussain (Sarangi Player) Isr Njatto (Alghoza Player) and Ejaz Sarhadi (Sarinda Player) at PNCA Auditorium.
The event was an effort to collect donation for flood affected people by the artists community through mobilizing various forms of visual and performing arts.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General PNCA, Tauqeer Nasir said that the event was a tribute to the services of popular singers and instrumentalists in the country.
The instruments showcased in the concert were considered as the dying identity of various music forms and such programmes are a way to provide a new life to these fading traditions and cultural heritage.
