CAIRO: Defending champion Pakistan defeated traditional rival India to qualify for the semifinal of the World Team Snooker Championship in Egypt.
India were outclassed 4-1 in the quarterfinal by the Pakistan duo of Mohamad Sajjad and Mohammad Asif.
India won the first frame scoring 71 points against Pakistan’s 31.
However the Pakistani cueists won the next 4 frames with a huge margin of 80-41, 62-17, 84-11 and 51-14.
Pakistan had earlier defeated host Egypt in the quarterfinals.
Pakistan’s Mohamad Sajjad beat Afghanistan’s Mohammad Raees to reach the quarterfinal of the World six red ball snooker championship being played simultaneously at the same venue.
