ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Khursheed Shah confirmed on Tuesday that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had sought names for the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
Speaking to the media, Shah said names for the CEC would be forwarded to the prime minister in one week after consultation with opposition parties. Shah added that he would send his recommendations for the Electoral Reform Committee to the National Assembly speaker soon.
The opposition leader expressed hope that after the Senate the Protection of Pakistan Ordinance would be unanimously approved by the National Assembly.
