SHARORA: Saudi-owned al-Arabia television said on Saturday that two suspected al Qaeda militants who had been surrounded inside a government building in southern Saudi Arabia after an attack on a border post with Yemen blew themselves up early on Saturday.
Arab media said that the assailants blew themselves up at the compound of police intelligence. Both the militants are suspected to be Al Qaeda activists, who before blowing themselves up fought fiercely with the security forces, report said.
Saudi Arabia security officials said that six militants of Al Qaeda had attacked the security force deployed at the Saudi border on Friday, which ensued a fight in which three terrorists were killed and the fourth one was arrested, while the border post in-charge including his two assistants also died in the skirmishes. The name of the militant arrested is included in the interior ministry list of wanted men
Following this Friday fight at the border post, two militants had fled towards Sharora, who later had taken refuge in a government building and finding no way to escape blew themselves up on Saturday morning, report said.
