PPP did not sign any deal with Musharraf: Jahangir Badar
KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Jahangir Badar has made it clear that his party had not signed any deal with former president Gen. (retd) Pervez Musharraf, Geo News reported.

Clarifying the statement of former prime minister and PPP Vice Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani, Badar said PPP had not singed any deal with Musharraf. He said ex-president Asif Ali Zardari had given two choices to General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani that either Musharraf should resign or be prepared for impeachment.

Earlieron Friday, former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said that former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf had resigned after certain promises were made.

Speaking to the media Gillani said during talks with the Establishment it was decided that Musharraf would be provided a honourable exit upon resigning.

“How can a powerful military president of the country resign without the support of the establishment. If the establishment supported this they must have also received some promises."

Gillani added that promises made during these talks should not be disregarded, informing the media that the PML-N was also part of the process.

Gillani said that action being taken against the former president by the PML-N was not appropriate. "If a commitment had been made it should be honoured by the PML-N."

The former prime minister stressed that he was not in favour of Musharraf but was only informing of commitments which had been made.
