Gilani’s ‘deal’ statement cannot be rebuffed: Qureshi

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the statement of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani pertaining to ‘deal’ could not be rebuffed, Geo News reported.

Addressing party’s women office-bearers and later speaking to media on Tuesday, Qureshi said that Musharraf would not have been given guard of honor had there been no deal between the then government and the military dictator. He said that the impeachment motion was not moved in the house due to that deal.

PTI leader said long march was not being taken out on the dictation of anyone, adding they would use their democratic right even the government did not allow them for the rally.

“The military should not be dragged into politics”, he said. “Military parade has never been held on August 14”, he added.
