Violent incidents claim five lives in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Five persons including a policeman were killed and two others injured in two different violent incidents in Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday, Geo News reported.

According to police, the first incident of firing occurred in the vicinity of Yarak police station when the victims were returning after attending a wedding function. The assailants, who were waiting for their targets, ambushed a car that killed three persons and injured two others in Yarak area. The victims included a policeman.

Police claimed that the incident is the result of personal enmity.

Another incident occurred in Malangi Town phase 2 area of Dera Ismail Khan where unknown gunmen entered a house and opened indiscriminate firing on the residents. As a result of firing, two persons were killed while the attackers fled from the scene.

The injured and bodies were shifted to a hospital for treatment and medico-legal formalities respectively.
