LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party leader Rehman Malik said that Dr Tahirul Qadri had assured him that he had no intention of derailing democracy.
Talking to media after meeting Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief, Malik said that he was given task of establishing contacts with political parties by Asif Ali Zardari.
He said that the PPP had not prevented any party from holding protests during its tenure, adding that the government could still send a delegation to Mr Qadri.
The former interior minister said that his activities were not against the government and people will see fine character of PPP in coming days. He added that he held talks with Qadri in a good atmosphere.
