KARACHI: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar discussed the ongoing political situation with Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Husain on Friday.
According to a statement released by the MQM, the Punjab Governor telephoned Altaf Hussain in London, and apprised him of the negotiations held with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
According to the statement, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain urged that negotiations with PTI and PAT be resumed and the matter should be resolved at the earliest.
Zardari-Altaf discussion
Former Interior Minister Rehman Malik has confirmed that Asif Ali Zardari and the MQM Chief also held a telephonic discussion. According to Malik, former President Zardari took Altaf Hussain into confidence.
