Government decides to directly contact Imran, Qadri
ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to hold direct talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri, who are currently demanding the prime minister’s resignation, Geo News reported on Wednesday.

According to sources, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif could resign until the investigations into the Model Town tragedy is completed.

Also, two senior government officials nominated by the government will hold dialogue with the PAT and PTI chiefs today, and would present the option of CM Punjab’s resignation until the solution of Model Town tragedy and its investigation.

The sources further told that the decision was taken by Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif after consulting political leaders.

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had taken responsibility of contacting Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri.
