LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Saturday said interpreting his remarks as against the army was incorrect.
In a media statement, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said in his yesterday’s interview he did not mention any rigging and advocated holding an investigation into the allegations of rigging in last year’s elections and that evidence held by his party would be provided.
Mr. Shujaat further said he had only urged the army to resolve the current crisis and that the government had also made a similar request earlier.
Shujaat said: “I only talked about Iftikhar Chaudhry and General (retd) Kayani in their individual capacity and did not criticize any institution. It would have been better if my statement had been listened carefully before any criticism”.
