Khawaja Asif condemns illegal closure of Geo

SIALKOT: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has severely condemned the illegal closure of Geo News, stating that he believes in the freedom of press.

The defence minister said Geo should be allowed to work with the same freedom awarded to other channels in the country.

Mr Asif added that sit-ins were wasting time and impeding relief work. According to the defence minister the government had worked on war footing to tackle the largest flood in history.



He further said several people were killed due to the rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and those involved in the politics of sit-ins were busy playing songs.
