DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two brothers of Station House Officer (SHO) Kulachi police station were killed and one other injured in militants’ attack in Dera Ismail Khan early on Monday morning.
A group of armed gunmen ambushed the house of SHO Kulachi police station in DI Khan killing his brothers, Fakhar Zaman and Ismail, while another person Asghar sustained critical wounds.
The motive behind the brutal attack was the crackdown against militants conducted by SHO Saifur Rehman, brother of the deceased, the other day in which one militant was reportedly killed and few others injured.
Police cordoned off the area and launched investigation.
In yet another incident, a group of militants equipped with hand grenades and automatic weapons attacked the Thall police station in Hangu district this morning, killing police constable Sabir Nawaz and injuring Umar Saeed, Mir Jhang and Zahir Khan.
According to District Police Officer Hangu Saeed Kundi, the outlaws first threw hand grenades inside the police station and later started indiscriminate firing on the policemen.
He said a suicide bomber who was accompanied with the outlaws was also killed during an exchange of firing with police adding the police repulsed the brazen attack successfully.
