INCHEON: The Pakistan women’s cricket team defeated Thailand by 51 runs to reach the semi-finals of the Asian Games T20 cricket event.
Defending champions at the Asian Games, the women’s team won the match behind brilliant performances from Nain Abidi and Asmavia Iqbal. Pakistan recovered from early struggles with Nain scoring 40 while Bismah Maroof and Qanita Jalil chipped in with 16 runs each.
Pakistan scored 97 runs in the match which was restricted to 14 overs due to rain. In reply Thailand scored 46-7 with Asmavia Iqbal claiming three wickets.
