KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi alleged on Saturday that the National Assembly Speaker wants to engage in horse trading by calling the PTI lawmakers separately.
Talking to media men at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi today, the PTI leader thanked all the political parties that supported PTI in making the rally in Karachi a successful event and claimed that a historic rally would be held at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore tomorrow (Sunday).
He said that the rally at Minar-e-Pakistan would formally mark the beginning of the movement for new Pakistan. Furthermore, he said that time will tell whether the sit-ins will be successful or not and claimed that the government will have to step down.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi stated that he foresees general elections happening before 2018.
“The next general elections will be held before 2018 and the current assemblies will not be able to complete their tenure,” Qureshi said.
Replying to a question, Qureshi said that PTI leaders have not used indecent words against the national leaders. Commenting sarcastically, he said that everyone is aware of the importance of any resolution presented in National Assembly.
Responding to a question related to Javed Hashmi, Qureshi said that he did not want to compete with him and questioned that why Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is not nominating any candidate from Multan.
