PTI to hold intra-party polls soon: Shireen Mazari
ISLAMABAD: Announcing the decision of restructuring Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), party’s Secretary Information Shireen Mazari on Saturday said that the intra-party re-election would be held soon.

Speaking to media representatives, she said that the decision has been taken, in principle, to bring reforms to the party structure. “Discipline would be ensured at all levels from now on,” she added.

Commenting on the upcoming Senate elections, Mazari said the party candidates have been selected on merit. She said the party would boycott the polls in Punjab Assembly and National Assembly.

The PTI stalwart claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government was reluctant to hold elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and announced to contest the same whenever that happens.

She said the party would come out on streets again if the judicial commission to probe alleged rigging in the 2013 election was not formed soon.

The PTI spokesperson claimed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was suffering from “Dharna phobia” (fear of protest sit-in) and advised him to come out of the fear.

She said that her party’s four-month-long sit-in outside the Parliament building in the federal capital had resolved several chronic issues of the country.

Speaking about Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s apology to her, Mazari said that she has already accepted the apology. However, the PTI’s stance regarding Hussain’s party was unchanged, she added.
