Six killed in Kohat bus blast

KOHAT: Six people were killed and 12 others injured when a blast occurred in a passenger bus at Peshawar Chowk in Kohat Saturday morning.

According to police, miscreants had planted a bomb near the bus stand at Peshawar Chowk in Kohat. The bodies and injured were shifted to a hospital.

The passenger van was completely destroyed in the blast while police said five kilograms of explosives were used.

Police cordoned off the area and launched investigation. Traffic was also been stopped on Kohat and Hangu Road.

In February, 12 people including two women and a child were killed in a bombing at the same bus stop. It is the second attack on a passenger vehicle to hit northwest Pakistan in a week. On Thursday, a bomb blast on a coach in the city of Peshawar killed at least seven people and wounded another six.
