MULTAN: A three-member committee has been formed by the Punjab government to probe the Multan tragedy.
The committee will be headed by Secretary for Environment Iqbal Muhammad Chauhan with DIG Ali Amir Malik and Special Secretary Interior Dr Shoiab Akbar as the other two members.
Seven Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers were killed and dozens injured when a stampede took place following a party rally in Multan on Friday.
In its initial report the police declared that the stampede was an accident and a case had been registered under Section 174.
