Firing kills intelligence officer in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: An officer of an intelligence agency was assassinated while his two brothers sustained wounds when unknown gunmen opened fire on them near the central prison here on Tuesday.

The police sources said that the firing had injured the intelligence officer and his two brothers and they were taken to Civil Hospital Hyderabad for treatment where the officer succumbed to his wounds.

The deceased had recently returned home after completing the training for the Second Lieutenant.

According to SSP Pir Fareed Sarhandi, investigation into the incident is underway from various aspects including whether it was a result of personal enmity or not.
