Multan: All set for by-polls in NA-149

MULTAN: The voting for by-election in NA-149 will be held today (Thursday) wherein more than 341, 527 voters will exercise their franchise in the constituency.

The polling will be held from 7 AM to 6 PM. The real contest will be held between Javed Hashmi, Malik Amir Dogar and Dr Javed Saddiquee.

Javed Hashmi and Amir Dogar had able to mustered support from PML-N and PTI respectively while Dr Javed Sadiquee was contesting on PPP platform with symbol of arrow.

The seat had got vacant by resignation of former PTI president Javed Hashmi following getting differences with its Chairman Imran Khan.

About 286 polling stations with 774 polling booths have been set up. Out of which 144 polling had been reserved for men and 142 for women.

Rangers will be deployed at 107 stations declared as sensitive kept into A category.

While 96 in B category and 83 were placed in C category.

As many as 3500 police officials will perform duty to get foolproof security. (APP)
