Main 9th Muharram procession will emerge from Nishtar Park

KARACHI: The main 9th Muharram procession in Karachi will emerge from Nishtar Park and after passing through its traditional routes will culminate at Hussainia Iranian
Imambargah, Geo News reported.

Strict security measures have been made for the Muharram processions in the part city.

The main Majlis of 9th Muharram will be held at Nishtar Park and the procession will emerge from there.

According to traffic police, the procession will pass through Sir Shah Nawaz
Bhutto Road, Mehfil-e-Shah-e-Khurasan, M.A. Jinnah Road, Mansfield
Street, Preedy Street Again M.A. Jinnah Road, Boulton Market, Bombay
Bazar, Kharadar, Nawab Mahabat Khanji road to Hussainia Iranian
Imambargah.

APP Adds: More than 18, 557 policemen in addition to police station ‘s police force will discharge security duties on Muharram 9 on the routes of 280 mourning processions including the main procession and at the venues of over 650 Majalis and around 50 Mahafil Waaz in the metropolis.

Besides the deployment of police personnel in uniform and civil dress and bomb disposal squads the sweeping scanning and clearing of the designated parking places set up at reasonable distance from procession routes and Majalis venues is also being ensured.
