ISLAMABAD: The sessions court rejected former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s petition seeking exemption from appearing during proceedings of the murder case of Abdul Rasheed Ghazi.
The court has ordered the former president to appear on December 6. The case was heard by Additional Sessions Judge Wajid Ali during which Musharraf’s lawyer submitted a petition seeking exemption for his client on the basis of ill health and security concerns.
Musharraf’s lawyer said a letter had been written to IGP Islamabad regarding security at the court but no reply had been received.
The lawyer for the plaintiff stated that despite court orders, Musharraf was not appearing for proceedings and an arrest warrant should be issued.
The court ordered IGP Islamabad to reply if Musharraf had submitted an application for security and inform the court.
The hearing of the case has been adjourned till December 6.
