ISLAMABAD: President of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani arrived here Friday on a two-day official visit to hold talks with the leadership.
This is President Ghani’s first visit to Pakistan since he was sworn in in September.
President Ashraf Ghani and his 30 member delegation were received by Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz at the Nur Khan Base here.
President Ghani soon after arrival reached General Headquarters where he was briefed on security situation.
The Afghan President will later offer Jumma prayers at the capital’s iconic Faisal Mosque.
He is also scheduled to deliver a key note address at National University of Defence in the afternoon.
On second day of his visit, President Ashraf Ghani will meet President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for an indepth discussion on bilateral issues and regional situation.
