PESHAWAR: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Sirajul Haq Saturday warned that arresting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (Chief) Imran Khan or Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Tahirul Qadri will only aggravate the prevailing crisis.
Talking to media representatives after holding a meeting with Asad Qaiser, Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the JI Amir declared the government’s decision to arrest the protesting leaders as ‘non-political’.
He expressed the hope that talks between the government and PTI will be successful.
Sirajul Haq once again asked the government to announce its team of negotiators, saying the desire for resolving the issues is held by the leaderships of government and PTI and both are in favour of holding talks.
The JI Amir said a jirga will be held to discuss the stalemate on November 16 in Islamabad.
