Pak-Afghan peace important for region’s peace: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD: Federal defense minister Khawaja Asif has said that peace in Pakistan and Afghanistan is necessary for the peace of the whole region.

He also said that without stopping foreign interference in Afghanistan there can be no peace and Pakistan were hopeful that good relations with India would be restored soon.

The defense minister was of the view that the SAARC conference would help reduce tensions between Pakistan and India.

Khawaja Asif further said that situation has gone bad because of a super power and the problems of the region should be dealt with within the region.

He blamed the current situation of the region on the failed foreign policy of America saying that Daish was created to fight against the Syrian government and now the region was suffering because of America’s failed foreign policy.
