BHAKKAR: Independent candidate Inamullah Khan Niazi has won PP-48 Bhakkar seat, according to unofficial results of all 144 poling stations, Geo News reported.
Niazi has secured 47,593 votes while Ahmed Nawaz Noorani, who is also contesting the by-polls as an independent candidate remained on second place by getting 47,013 votes.
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) candidate Nazar Abbas Kahawar has only secured 13,582 ballots.
The PP-48 seat fell vacant due to the sudden death of Najibullah, who was elected as independent candidate in general elections 2013.
According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the constituency has a total of 153,098 registered voters. Of them 86,529 are males and 66,569 are females.
