PTI announces change in dates for strikes
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday announced change in dates for strikes, one day after its chief Imran Khan made public his party’s future course of action in connection with its ongoing protest on the alleged rigging of 2013 elections.

According to the above decision taken during a PTI meeting chaired by Imran Khan here, the country-wide strike would be undertaken on December 18 instead of 16, as announced by the party chief on Sunday.

The new dates for strike calls in Faislabad and Lahore cities are December 8 and 15 while no change has been decided for the strike in Karachi which will be held on December 12.

Addressing a press conference, PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi the change in date from December 16 to 18 has been made in view of the history’s tragic incident of the fall of Dhaka.

He said that peaceful protests registered will staged in the major cities of the country. He clarified Imran Khan’s earlier statement, saying shutting down Lahore meant closing down the shops in Lahore.
