Imran Khan lacks political acumen: Zadari
LAHORE: Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Zardari on Tuesday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan lacked political acumen and that’s why he first gave a protest call for December 16, completely overlooking the historical significance of this date.

Addressing the PPP foundation day ceremony, former president Asif Zardari said the only thing that he could not do during his stint as head of the state was to ‘embrace’ the PPP workers.

He said he would make it up to them by meeting the workers at district level and also resolve their issues.

Asif Zardari said interests of the coming generations should precede all other considerations and stressed upon shunning the intention to paralyze the country. “The punishment for one wrong act must not be awarded to the history, nation and Pakistan,” he added.

He said he had given better positions to those party members who had been active for the past 20 years, adding, those who intend to part their ways are free to join those who speak of the umpire’s finger.

Zardari said reason behind Benazir Bhutto’s signing the Charter of Democracy (CoD) with the Pakistan Muslim League-N was the cause of democracy, country and the system.
