Qureshi wants Sanaullah, Sher Ali away from protest
MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice President, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi Saturday said he hoped the Punjab government would keep Rana Sanaullah and Abid Sher Ali away and no hurdles will be created in the way of ‘peaceful’ protest in Lahore on Monday.

Talking to media men here at the airport, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said PTI’s protest in Karachi remained peaceful, adding that no incident of forced shutter down took place in the city, as traders also cooperated with his party.

He said the PTI’s peaceful protest in Faisalabad was turned violent under a pre-conceived plan. “The workers of ruling party tortured the party workers and pelted rallies with stones,” he added.

A PTI worker, he said, had been killed in Faisalabad on December 8 but the provincial government failed to capture the killers.

He further said Punjab government repeated “Model Town Tragedy” in Faisalabad, claiming that his party worker was killed and several others sustained wounds but instead of capturing the culprits, the provincial government registered an FIR against Imran Khan, Arif Alvi, Asad Umar besides himself.

“Strict action should be taken against Rana Sanaullah if he was responsible for Faisalabad incident”, Shah Mehmood demanded.

He said his party workers would peacefully disperse after staging a protest in Lahore, adding that he would meet Multan traders to invite them to take part in the PTI’s forthcoming protest.

He thanked the people of Karachi for taking part in yesterday’s protest.
