LAHORE: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Sirajul Haq on Saturday said the Ulema of Pakistan have been most loyal to its constitution.
“If there is anyone that is most loyal to the constitution of Pakistan; it is the Ulema,” said Sirajul Haq at a joint press conference at the conclusion of a meeting of religious parties and Ittehad Tanzimaat Madaris Pakistan here at Mansoora.
He said all and sundry condemned the tragic attack in Peshawar but added that discriminatory treatment to the Madaris is intolerable and unfortunate.
On the occasion, Mufti Munibur Rehman, Qari Hanif Jalandhry, Qari Yasin Zafar, Dr Abdul Malik, Mujibur Rehman Inqalabi and Sahibzada Nasir Ahmed said the West labeled the ‘Talib’ as ‘Taliban terrorists’. “The name of Islam was being purposefully tarnished,” they agreed.
Earlier, the participants of the meeting agreed any evidence that the government brings forward against any Madressa, religious party or its leader, they would support it.
The meeting also expressed readiness to extend all out cooperation in all the constitutional steps being taken to counter terrorism.
