ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) stalwart and senior politician Senator Raza Rabbani on Tuesday burst into tears during his speech as the upper house of the parliament passed a bill providing constitutional cover to speedy trial courts to be headed by military officers.
“Perhaps, I never felt ashamed as much in my life as I did feel today,” said he adding that he voted in favour of the bill on behalf of his party and was free to decide his future course of action.
The tearful senator said that he voted against his conscience.
