ISLAMABAD: The special court constituted to hear treason trial against former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf dismissed a request of the prosecutor seeking proceedings exclusively against Musharraf.
The three-judge special court headed by Justice Faisal Arab has been conducting the proceedings in Pervez Musharraf treason trial.
Justice Faisal Arab said the proceedings had been stopped on the request of the Federal government and now the prosecutor was asking for proceedings to be conducted only against Pervez Musharraf.
He said the Federal government is the complainant against the main accused, Pervez Musharraf, in the treason trail.
Justice Arab said the order of the High Court to stop the proceedings of the case was the result of a consensus of the government and other stakeholders.
