JUI-F to launch protest against likely action on madrassahs
KARACHI: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) on Thursday announced that it will launch a protest movement against likely action on madrassahs in connection with the newly-approved National Action Plan (NAP) to eradicate the country of terrorism and extremism.

Speaking to the media, JUI-F general secretary Maulana Ghafoor Haideri said that the party would hold a protest march from Shikarpur to Sukkur on February 26 in this regard.

He said that despite being a part of the government, “we cannot deviate from our ideology”.

“We also expressed our reservations on formation of military courts,” he added.

Haideri urged Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to resign from his post by accepting his negligence and incompetence on the Shikarpur massacre.

“He [CM Sindh] should have resigned a lot earlier after murder of Dr Khalid Soomro,” said the JUI-F leader.

Maulana Haideri, on the occasion, declared the deadly attack on Army Public School in Peshawar a national tragedy.
