CCPO says no specific warning of Police Lines attack

LAHORE: CCPO Lahore, Captain (retd) Amin Wains said there was no specific warning of the Police Lines attack.

The CCPO added that in the last month and a half there had been several security threats issued just for Lahore.

Five people were killed and 25 injured as a result a suicide bombing outside the Police Lines in Qila Gujar Singh area of Lahore.

The police chief of the city said CCTV video of the blast was being evaluated while evidence collected from the spot had been sent for forensic testing.

Police have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) of the suicide attack which states that three suicide attackers ran towards the Police Lines from the railway station. Two terrorists took advantage of the chaos in the area and fled while the third detonated his vest.

Meanwhile one of the victims of the suicide attack has been identified as Muhammad Nadeem a resident of Chicawatni.
