PESHAWAR: At least three terrorists were killed Tuesday night in a clash with police personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Swabi district.
A policeman also lost his life in the exchange of gunfire with the militants, which police claimed belonged to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The KP provincial government that a Rs 2 million bounty had been placed on the head of Salman, who they identified as one the TTP militants killed in the clash tonight.
According to police, the terrorists had taken refuge in a house in the Shewa Adda area of Swabi, and the militants lobbed grenades and opened fire on the forces as they raided the house.
Nine other personnel, including a deputy superintendent (DSP) and two station house officers (SHO) were also injured in the clash.
A number of weapons, explosives and grenades were recovered from the house following the raid.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) in KP Nasir Durrani has recommended the names of the police team members to be given awards and compensation for carrying out the brave operation.
