ISLAMABAD: A court in the federal capital on Thursday issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of former president Pervez Musharraf after he failed to show for a hearing despite repeated assurances.
The court was hearing the case of the killing of Abdul Rasheed Ghazi, the former chief cleric of the Lal Masjid in Islamabad.
The court had previously issued bailable arrest warrants for Musharraf on March 10.
Hearing the case today, the court rejected the former president's plea for exemption from appearing in court and summoned him on April 27.
The court also confiscated bail bonds worth Rs 100,000 submitted by Musharraf's counsel.
