ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday stopped implementation on the arrest order of former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf in the murder case of Abdul Rashid Ghazi murder case.
The IHC has directed that the former president be presented in a trial court on April 27.
Justice Noor-ul-Haq Qureshi heard Pervez Musharraf’s petition challenging his non-bailable arrest warrant issued by Additional Sessions Judge Wajid Ali.
Musharraf’s lawyer, Malik Tahir Mahmood assured the IHC that the former president would appear before the trial court on April 27. The IHC directed that if Musharraf fails to appear on this day the arrest warrant will be restored.
The former president was booked in Abdul Rashid Ghazi’s murder case on September 2, 2013.
