Zain murder case: Mustafa Kanju’s remand extended
LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday extended the physical remand of Mustafa Kanju by six days in the murder case of teenager Zain Rauf.

Mustafa Kanju has admitted to murdering 13-year-old Zain Rauf after a minor traffic accident near Cavalry Ground in Lahore.

On April 5, police said that Mustafa Kanju had confessed to the crime during interrogation. According to police Kanju had admitted firing the murder weapons, but claimed that Zain Rauf was not his intended target.

Kanju said that he had neither consumed alcohol nor was he intoxicated during the incident, but had fired the weapon in fury, police claimed.

Police also claimed that Kanju's fingerprints were found on the Kalashnikov rifle — the weapon which claimed Zain's life.
