PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) leader Senator Azam Khan Hoti was laid to rest in his ancestral home in Mardan on Wednesday evening. The late ANP leader had been fighting a battle against cancer.
He had been rushed to a hospital in Peshawar early Wednesday morning. Hoti aged 69 was the father of former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and a brother of Begum Naseem Wali Khan, making him the maternal uncle of ANP chief Asfandyar Wali.
Hoti had twice served as federal minister, and was also elected as senator twice — once in 1993 and then again in 2012.
