KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq on Monday ruled out any possibility that his party would boycott the by-election for NA-246, saying JI would not allow opponents to have a smooth sailing unlike past.
Speaking at a press conference, he said as to why the government which could verify 700 millions SIMs was not able to install biometric system for election in NA-246.
“We want a Karachi where Altaf Hussain would come without any fear, we don’t want a war field, rather we want to play a friendly match in NA-246,” he said.
He said hundreds of strikes were observed in the city but none of them was to highlight problems of people. The JI Amir said all of those strikes were called in the interest of a single political party.
