SWABI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir on Saturday held the Federal government responsible for the terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, saying 'bad policies of the rulers’ caused damage to the country.
Addressing a ceremony here, the JI chief said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were made to undergo the ordeal of power loadshedding, adding the PTI and JI-governed province was facing a 'step-mother like' treatment (on part of the federal government).
He cited lack of transparency in elections as the main reason responsible for every fight, adding the Election Commission of Pakistan needed to be transformed into an autonomous body in order to strengthen the democracy.
The JI Ameer called upon the Election Commission to make such laws which nobody could exploit in their favour.
"Efforts made by political Jirga resulted in the formation of Judicial commission", he claimed.
Siraj further said that imposition of Shariah laws was the only way out of unrest and power loadshedding.
