PESHAWAR: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq on Tuesday said issues pertaining to Waziristan tribal area were political in nature and urged for the political solution for the same.
Speaking to media representatives after meeting with a North Waziristan Jirga comprised of political parties here, he claimed that the incumbent government had no substantive plans for the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
“Our nation should not be left depending on foreign NGOs,” he added.
The Jirga was comprised of representatives from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Mulsim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP) and the minorities.
Speaking to the delegation earlier, he said he supports the demand of repatriation of IDPs to their own areas before the commencement of Holy month of Ramazan.
Blaming the government for having no plans for the IDPs repatriation, the JI amir said that funds were collected in the name tribesmen’s welfare.
Demanding local bodies election in tribal areas, Haq said all steps taken for the betterment of FATA would not bear fruit without taking the tribesmen onboard.
