GILGIT: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday wowed to grant more regional autonomy to Gilgit Baltistan, which he said was neglected by the government.

“The development work that should have been done by government was instead materialized by Agha Khan,” he said, pledging that he would make the region more independent.

“Time will come when people will long for getting employment opportunities in Hunza,” Imran Khan said. The PTI chief said it was incumbent upon the federal government to help people affected by Attabad lake.

Criticizing his political opponents, Imran Khan said the PTI would put an end to partnership of Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari, which he said was only meant to take turns in government.

He said that though decision on the Pak-China Corridor had been taken, economic zone was yet to be built. The PTI chairman also promised to give Gilgit Baltistan its share of the Pak-China corridor.
