No evidence of organised poll rigging found, says Sanaullah

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Monday said that no evidence pertaining to alleged rigging during 2013 General Election have been found in the judicial commission’s ongoing inquiry.

Speaking to media representatives outside Punjab Assembly here, he said proofs regarding irregularities, however, have been found and the government with the help of concerned departments was striving to remove them for future elections in the country.

Expressing reservations over delimitations of Local Government constituencies, Sanaullah said that a review committee has been formed on the issue, adding that appeals in this regard will be made according to the law.

Without naming anyone, the provincial minister said that certain politicians were oblivious of the country’s chronic issues like terrorism and power loadshedding and only wanted to come into power at the earliest.

Commenting on recent provocative statements made by Indian political leadership, Rana Sanaullah claimed that India had allocated $300 million to destabilise Pakistan.
