KARACHI: Five families who claim to be guardians of Geeta, the stranded girl who had boarded a train in India and by mistake landed in Pakistan, have contacted Edhi Home Centre on Wednesday, according to Faisal Edhi.
Renowned social activist and son of Abdul Sattar Edhi, Faisal Edhi, however, told Geo News that the relationships of the families with Geeta have not been proven yet.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Indian High Commissioner visited Edhi Home Centre, Kharadar and met with Geeta.
During his visit, the Indian HC TCA Raghavan talking to media persons said the Indian government’s decision to send him here is a message of peace in itself.
He also hoped that Pakistan-India dialogue will resume soon.
The Indian HC said the aim of his meeting with Geeta was to get as much knowledge as he possibly can with regards to her situation.
The Indian HC vowed to make efforts to find family members of Geeta as well.
He also expressed his pleasure over meeting with renowned social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi.
Geeta currently lives with Bilqees Edhi, the wife of Abdul Sattar Edhi.
